More Than
a Festival
In the spirit of Maa Durga — the divine mother who protects all — UTSOV dedicates itself to lifting lives and serving communities across two continents.
Celebration & Compassion
UTSOV was founded on a simple truth: that the greatest offering we can make to Maa Durga — the Divine Mother who shelters every living being — is to shelter and uplift her children. Every ticket purchased, every sponsorship received, every dollar donated flows directly into causes that nourish lives.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Every year, our community unites not just to celebrate, but to serve. The festival is the celebration — the philanthropy is the prayer.
"She who protects the universe carries her strength in compassion. We carry ours in community."
Nourishment
Feeding the hungry in NJ and partnering with food banks and shelters serving Indian diaspora communities.
Education
Funding scholarships, school supplies, and literacy programs for underprivileged children in West Bengal and New Jersey.
Healthcare
Supporting mobile health clinics and healthcare access initiatives for underserved rural communities in Bengal and NJ.
Community Resilience
Disaster relief for cyclone and flood survivors in Bengal, and emergency community support in New Jersey.
Organizations We Stand With
These are the organizations and causes that UTSOV's community has rallied behind — year after year, with growing love and commitment.
Emergency relief for cyclone-affected families in coastal Bengal. UTSOV has raised over $25,000 for survivors of Cyclone Amphan and subsequent storms — providing food, shelter materials, and school supplies.
Partnering with Community Health NJ to bring free health screenings, blood pressure checks, diabetes awareness, and wellness resources to the South Asian community in the tri-state area.
Sponsoring education for 50+ underprivileged children in rural Bengal — providing school fees, textbooks, uniforms, and mid-day meals for an entire academic year, funded by UTSOV donations.
Every year, UTSOV volunteers distribute food packages and cooked meals to New Jersey families in need. The act of sharing bhog — sacred food — extends beyond the puja grounds into our neighbors' homes.
In partnership with BOAS NJ, we fund merit-and-need scholarships for young South Asian women pursuing higher education. Empowering women is honoring Durga — the supreme manifestation of Shakti.
Supporting reforestation and ecological restoration in the Sundarbans — the mangrove forest that protects Bengal's coastal communities. Caring for Maa Durga's earth is an act of devotion.
Partnering with Asha for Education's NJ chapter to fund grassroots education projects across rural India — building classrooms, training teachers, and ensuring every child has the right to learn.
Supporting Pratham's mission to improve reading and numeracy for millions of under-resourced children across India. Because the love of learning is the greatest gift a community can give its children.
Funding CARE India's livelihood and healthcare programs for women in rural West Bengal — microfinance, vocational training, and maternal health support. Shakti lives in every woman we uplift.
Helping homeless youth rebuild their lives in New Jersey — shelter, education, and job training for young people who have nowhere else to turn. Compassion without borders is how we honor the Mother.
Supporting AID's grassroots development projects — clean water, education, and livelihoods for India's most marginalized communities. Development that grows from the people, for the people.
